This car is a dream. After
owning an 87 944 n/a and losing it in an accident, I was carless (Porsche
anyways) for two years. After passing up older, and slower 911’s, I realized
that buying anything else just wouldn’t suffice. I bought it in Arizona and
drove it back home to Salt Lake City. It was extremely fun on the straight,
vacant roads that wonder through the desert. I had it up to 153 mph on the
ride home but ran out of room. I’m confident that she’ll hit 165 without a
problem.
At first, I didn’t want to own a red
car, and the pictures I received from the buyer via email were awful.
However, when I saw the car in person, I fell in love right there. It’s
such a unique color. It looks different in every type of light. Velvet red
in the shade (just like a velvet rope in the old movie theaters), to maroon
in the bright sunlight, to plum as the sun sets. No tow time when I look at
it is the color the same. I love it.
I have been a PCA
member for four years here in Salt Lake City. Check us out
vista.pca.org/int. It has been wonderful finding the Rennlist community.
Everyone is so passionate about the cars they drive. For many I’d say their
cars are family members. The forums are a godsend. I can have the answer to
just about any question I might have at the click of a button. It really
ends up saving us all a lot of $ in repairs.
Enjoy the website, it should change often! ~John
