This car started life in 1970 as a 1.7L. The car had been in an
engine compartment fire (one of the early FI line failures). The flare work and
other mods were done in 1978. I bought the car in December 1982. It was my daily driver for a number of years, but has seen
very reduced mileage over the past 10 years as I've bought other cars.

Below is a list of the car's current configuration (updated as of
02/02/2010):
- Shell: 1970
914, glas flares, custom flared steel rockers and valences (rear valence is
the short style with notch), Desert Beige (yellow) lacquer finish (20 years
old, decent shape), undercoated, passenger mirror installed. Virtually no
rust. Clutch tube repaired, Euro taillight and front signal lenses, front
signal buckets modified for Euro 2-bulb operation, front side markers
removed, PIAA Super White Platinum XTRA H4 55/60W headlamps, Neolite 809 driving
lights with PIAA Super White Platinum XTRA H3 55W bulbs, rewired light circuit (stalk
flash driving lights, automatic driving lights on w/high beams) - virtually
no door dings or nicks, all panels are still straight. Aluminum
trunk lid rollers, nylon trunk lock pin, new sail panel vinyl, new door stays.
- Engine: GA series 2.0L with Euro pistons (rebuilt
Dec. 2006), D-Jetronic,
new D-Jet harness, powder coated sheet
metal and intake runners, stock headers/heat exhangers, new Dansk muffler, passenger side heater blower modification (splitter and hose),
Crane XR3000 electronic ignition. Additional 8 ga ground for the alternator,
additional 8 ga battery ground to engine case, electronic (non-mechanical)
Bosch voltage regulator (0 192 062 007), new alternator harness, rebuilt Bosch alternator, Sears Diehard battery.
- Tranny: 901 w/
side shifter, stock clutch and flywheel, metal pivot wedge
- Wheels:
Five-lug conversion, Fuchs 8x15 all round, Goodyear Eagle GT 215-60's 24/26 psig
- Brakes: Stock,
ATE blue fluid, Metal Master pads, bronze pedal bushings, reservoir cover, new OEM lines
(in 2003)
- Front
suspension: 21 mm torsion bars, Weltmeister bar, adjustable drop links, KYB gas shocks,
lowered, bump steer kit, Turbo tie-rods
- Rear
suspension: 180 lb springs, adjustable perches, Koni adjustable, Koni foam snubbers
- Interior:
Scheel seats, re-covered in cloth and bolsters cut for belts; custom brown vinyl on doors
and seat back panel; late style back panel, non-adjustable passenger seat rack replaced
w/adjustable rack; leather-wrapped 13" wheel, Sony 50Wx4 CD player, Boston
Acoustics 6 1/2" door speakers, Blaupunkt 6 1/2" speakers in glas
reproductions of the original speaker boxes,
acoustic door mat panels, new Autos International black domestic loop
10-piece carpet set with custom black loop mats.
