  1. Fuel Injection Harness Removal/Replacement

The harness extends from the L-Jet brain, in the passenger's footwell, throught the firewall and forward into the engine compartment. This harness attaches to all 8 injectors, the air flow meter, the temp sensor II, and the idle and wide-open switches on the throttle body.

It is connected to the firewall by a rubber boot which slips into the hole on the firewall. The boot is part of the harness and must be set free from its mountings (it's held in place by the groove around the base of the boot) for the harness to pass through the firewall.

From Sterling, on the Rennlist: You should able to push out on the L shaped boot from the inside. The hole that the cable goes through is about 2 inches in diameter. When you go to install a new one put some liquid dish soap on it to lube it up, and it pops right into place. For removal, you will need to feed the connectors through the hole one at a time saving the 2 largest ones for last. With all the other wires and connectors out of the way the 2 large ones will fit one at a time through the hole. Installation is exact reverse of removal.

    Harness boot looks like this:
